If you’ve been living at Elmwood Manor for any length of time, you must know by now that our local park is more than just a plot of land filled with trails and trees. Highland Park is as vibrant a venue for events as it is a botanical treasure. Among the popular happenings that take place each summer is the Shakespeare in the Park series. Each year, Rochester Community Players showcases local talent in a Shakespearean classic in the Highland Park Bowl.

This year, in collaboration with Wallbyrd Theatre Co., the group will present the lesser-known comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Thanks to partnerships with Perinton’s India Community Center and Kalidas Theatre Company, this story about two young men traveling in search of adventure and romance will be given a decidedly Bollywood twist.

Head into the park any day of the week but Monday, July 6th through 21st, for a free evening of entertainment. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket, and don’t forget the bug repellant. The curtain rises at 8 pm.
