Area Activity Guide: Upstate Social Sessions

September 2017

What’s your connection to Social Media?

  • Love it and want to do it better?
  • Hoping to get better stats for your employer?
  • Planning a social-media-related career?
  • Ready to connect with local influencers?
  • Don’t get what the big deal is?

If any of these describe you, Upstate Social Sessions is likely to provide a wealth of insight. Now in its third year, the one-day mini conference takes a deep dive to explore the value of social media in our personal and professional lives. The 2017 event will be held at the George Eastman Museum from 8 am to 3 pm on Friday, September 15th. Main-stage speakers will be presenting from the Dryden Theatre stage while small group breakout sessions throughout the day will focus on photography, community engagement, and analytics. With so many valuable sessions running concurrently, you’ll want to take a look at the online schedule and plan your day in advance. Breakfast and admission to the museum are included in the conference admission.

Gaining & Leveraging Visibility

Ever wish you could connect with Evan Dawson? Upstate Social Sessions is an opportunity to meet him and many more of Rochester’s most visible media personalities. In addition to tips, trends, and best practices, these local influencers will share insight into how they built their platforms and how they’ve leveraged them. It’s the only place to learn about food styling from the creator of Chickpea Magazine, collect Instagram tips from social media professionals who run accounts for Kodak and the Buffalo Bisons, and talk shop with the creatives behind Sir Rocha Says, Boomtown Table, and the Rochesteriat. At the end of the day, mingle with these and other great minds at the Upstate Social Sessions Happy Hour at Joe Bean.
