Area Activity Guide: Corn Hill Arts Fest
July 2016
Discover Corn Hill!
Rochester’s first and oldest residential neighborhood used to be known as Rochesterville. Today we call this 35-street section of town Corn Hill, and it offers residents the opportunity to make a home at the center of our vibrant city. July’s annual Corn Hill Arts Festival shines the spotlight directly on this neighborhood by bringing together 200,000 guests and hundreds of volunteers for two days of art, music, and family fun. If you’ve yet to cross the Genesee and explore this part of Rochester known for its friendliness, the Corn Hill Arts Fest is your perfect opportunity.
A Festival for the Whole Family
The main event at the Corn Hill Arts Fest is the juried art competition featuring 400 artists and their artwork in 9 different categories. You can find one-of-a-kind works of art, handcrafted functional pieces, and even consumable crafts. Other highlights include the magical Fairy House tour and a high-octane Car Show. There’s an Emerging Artists Expo where newcomers ages 15-25 can show off and sell their own handcrafted creations. For 2016, the festival will even feature bounce houses and an aerial adventure park where younger kids can have a blast. Local entertainers will provide free live music throughout the festival grounds, and beer and wine will be available for those over 21.
