Rochester is often called the Festival City, and with good reason. One of the biggest and most exciting of these festivals is the annual Rochester International Jazz Fest, and it’s right around the corner! Now in its 14th year, the Jazz Fest has just gotten bigger and better over time. It has really evolved into one of the premiere music festivals in the Western New York region, if not the state itself!

This year, Jazz Fest will run from Friday, June 19th to Sunday, June 27th. For the uninitiated, Jazz Fest basically takes over downtown, with numerous venues hosting all kinds of shows, many of which are free. Jazz is one of the most wide-reaching genres in terms of sub-styles, so you’ll always be able to find something to appeal to you, be it acid jazz, cool jazz, smooth jazz, big band jazz, soul, funk – Jazz Fest has something for everyone. Take the short car ride downtown and take in some beautiful, challenging music this year! We’re sure you won’t regret it.
