Area Activity Guide: Party in the Park
June 2016
Amped-up Thursday Evenings
Get ready for Thursday to be the best evening of the week. Windstream’s Party in the Park is back for its 20th year of mid-week music. To celebrate, the opening show on June 16th will be followed by a fireworks display! All shows will be held at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park at 353 Court Street (at the corner of Court and Chestnut Streets). Kids can play at the nearby playground while parents enjoy beer or wine and some great entertainment. Food and beverages will be available from a rotating array of local food trucks.
More Amazing Musical Talent
True to form, the 2016 Party lineup features something for absolutely everyone. You can catch well-known national acts like Gin Blossoms and 10,000 Maniacs, as well as hometown favorites The Buddhahood and Thunder Body. Lou Gramm will appear in the flesh as the voice of Foreigner, while The Eagles, Zac Brown, and Dave Matthews Band will be conjured by tribute bands. And don’t miss a series-ending show by The Wailers on August 11th.
