Brace yourself, everyone – it’s almost time for the 2015 Rochester Fringe Festival! In case you’re unfamiliar with it, the Fringe Festival is a 10-day visual and performing arts extravaganza, with events spread out all across the city. This is the 4th local version of the international phenomenon that has its roots in the Scottish theatre. The fest drew upwards of 60,000 people last year, and there’s no reason to think the 2015 event won’t get even bigger! This year’s version will include many local artists, as well as both national and international acts.

There is simply too much going on within the 10 days to list everything here. Thankfully, the festival’s website contains every little bit of information you could possibly need. But we can tell you that the Fringe Fest, which runs from September 17th – 26th all over Rochester, will feature (in the festival’s own words) “theater, comedy, visual arts, family entertainment, music, dance, physical theatre, street theatre, musical theatre, opera, poetry, literature and experiences that have yet to even be imagined!” One of the main tenets of Fringe Fest is that anything goes – imaginations run wild! This almost always leads to exciting, challenging, and unique performances.
