Area Activity Guide: Rochester Red Wings Baseball
March 2016
Welcome to Baseball Season!
It’s been a long time since the Bills season ended, and March Madness had a pretty sad ending for most Upstate New York fans. Fortunately, we have another sport to look forward to, and this one will score us time spent outside in the sun. The 20th season of Rochester Red Wings Baseball at Frontier Field gets underway with a 4:05 matinee against the Scranton/WB RailRiders on Saturday, April 9th. The first 7,500 fans through the gate will get a 2016 magnet schedule. Because this is Rochester, there’s also a 50-Degree Guarantee in effect. If the temperature stays below 50 degrees, each Opening Day ticket can be redeemed for a FREE ticket to any April or May home game. If you travel by car, you can make it to Frontier Field from Elmwood Manor in under 10 minutes. Transit will get you there in about half an hour if you take the 53.
The fun starts here.
Regardless of whether you’re able to attend on opening day, baseball season delivers fun and excitement far beyond the April 9th home opener. You can plan out your summer schedule based on Red Wings’ Promotions like concerts, giveaways, and fireworks displays. If you or your little ones become die-hard fans, you can meet different Red Wings players on the Main Concourse before every home game. The Pre-Game Autograph Booth is presented by Hillside Family of Agencies from 6:25 pm-6:45 pm prior to 7:05 pm games; 5:25-5:45 p.m. prior to 6:05 games; and 12:55 pm-1:15 pm prior to 1:35 pm games.
With prices ranging from $8 to $12, you can’t lose! Get your 2016 Red Wings tickets now.
