If you’re forging your early career in Rochester, New York, then Rochester Young Professionals is an organization you should be connecting with early and often. This incredibly active group hosts myriad events throughout the year to help young professionals connect, collaborate, and flourish. Its five divisions dedicated to social events, professional development, community development, volunteering, and sports & outdoor recreation create inroads for Rochesterians to access and become active in diverse areas of local life.
Here’s what RYP is all about.
Rochester Young Professionals is a group that coordinates, collaborates, and promotes events around Rochester that are social, volunteer, or informational in nature. Our board connects young Rochester with activities that will help to improve the careers, social lives, and character of our members.
If you’ve been in Rochester for any duration, you’re sure to have noticed RYP’s events all over the local media. Here are some big happenings coming up in December.
Volunteering & Board Expo
Wednesday, December 6th | 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm | Temple B’rith Kodesh
Not sure where your time and skills would be put to best use to benefit the community? Attend RYP’s 2nd Annual Volunteering and Board Expo to connect with more than 100 community organizations in need of volunteers or board members. Speak directly with reps to find the most symbiotic opportunity!
Holiday Party at the Beer Market
Thursday, December 7th | 6 pm – 9 pm | 1401 Mt Hope Ave.
Feel like making some social connections in a laid-back atmosphere? Head to this month’s RYP Social — a Holiday Party at The Beer Market! It’ll be a festive opportunity to network, socialize, and enjoy one of 50 beers on tap. The Beer Market will provide light appetizers, happy hour specials, and cocktail service. Just bring your friendly disposition and plenty of business cards.
Holiday Tour of the Eastman Museum
Saturday, December 16th | 3 pm – 5 pm | 900 East Ave.
This event has the makings of a genuinely Rochester holiday tradition. Take a guided tour of the George Eastman Museum, first through the historic mansion while it’s decked out for the holidays, then through the featured exhibits. Tickets are just $10!
