Area Activity Guide:Greater ROC Chamber & Young Entrepreneurs Academy
February 2017
The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) will be getting together at the Strong Museum on February 16th for the latest event in the biz.Exchange professional development series, sponsored by Five Star Bank. This Round Table and Pitch Contest event is a chance for CEOs of all ages to share insights, learn from industry experts, and test their new business ideas. CEOs will present 90-second business pitches, and members of the audience will have a chance to ask questions and vote for the best pitch. It’s a great opportunity for every member of the family to witness entrepreneurship and explore the world of business.
Never heard of YEA!?
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy was created at the University of Rochester in 2004, but since then it’s grown to serve 168 communities across the United States. The academy is a one-year program that walks students in grades 6-12 through the process of launching their very own companies. Young people get to see their ideas come alive as they develop skills that will benefit them throughout their professional lives. The program brings together innovative schools, local industry leaders, community organizations, and individual students to benefit the entire community.
